Top Quality Cable Glands For Hazardous Areas

Hazardous Areas

Do you work in the challenging environment of the Oil and Petrochemical industries?

In hazardous areas, the atmosphere can contain flammable or explosive gases, dusts or vapours. Such perilous conditions require products which are designed to be both flame proof and explosion proof.

Hazardous areas are categorised into different zones to indicate the level of risk and ensure that the right apparatus is used. In Zone 1, for example, an explosive gas atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation. Meanwhile, in Zone 2, it is not likely to occur; and if it does, it will only exist for a short time.

If you’re looking for a company that stock products for hazardous areas, ETS Cable Components are keen to help.

We are leading distributors of explosive atmosphere and hazardous area (ATEX) electrical equipment for the Oil and Gas Petrochemical Industries. With nearly 30 years’ experience, we have supplied products for many projects in challenging areas, including The Shetland Gas Plant, Hole House Farm Gas Storage and Golden Eagle Oil Field.

Our IECEx and ATEX certified equipment are ideal for within CAT 2 (Zone 1) and CAT 3 (Zone 2) where gasses are present. We also have equipment for zone 21 and 22 where explosive dust is present.

Cable Glands for Hazardous Areas

Within our range, we stock Cable Glands designed for hazardous areas, including flame-proof and explosion-proof cable glands from top manufacturers like CMP and Hawke. We offer an array of glands for a variety of cable types, including stuffing glands, barrier glands and universal gland types.

The A2F LSF Brass Flameproof (ATEX) Cable Glands can be used with all types of un-armoured cables, for both indoor and outdoor use, and within CAT 2 (EExd Zone 2) and CAT 3 hazardous areas (Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21 & Zone 22). These cable glands provide mechanical cable retention and an IP66/67/68 LSF Zero Halogen (LSZH) environmental displacement seal onto the cable’s outer sheath.

Always ensure you have the correct type of cable glands for your projects, otherwise unnecessary problems can arise. Our blog Considerations when Choosing Cable Glands provides some helpful tips when choosing glands for industrial applications.
