Pfisterer SICON Mechanical Cable Terminals

Pfisterer SICON mechanical terminals are suitable for the termination of all Medium Voltage (MV) cables between 11kV – 33kV.

These shear-bolt lugs are able to accept both solid and stranded conductors, in aluminium or copper. Mineral insulated solid copper cables (MICC) are also accepted by the SICON terminal range.

A specially designed step-less shear bolt feature enables the maximum clamping force onto the conductor to be achieved, making SICON screw lugs superior to other mechanical lugs on the market.

The Pfisterer SICON range has a number of unique features making it a highly specified product:

• Features a compact design with rounded edges, making the lug suitable for all types of ColdShrink and heat shrink products.
• Smooth breakage of the shear bolt simplifies the tightening process.
• Shear bolt breaks off flush with the terminal body, no need for port-hole filling.
• Superior compressive force, even suitable for Class 5 fine-stranded conductors.
• Internally grooved to aid electrical connection and protect against conductor oxidisation.
• Shears at Torque level of 52Nm (+/-7Nm).
• Blocked design to provide an oil or water barrier.
