3M Scotch 23 – EPR Self Amalgamating Tapes
3M ScotchTM 23 Electrical Tape is a highly conformable self-fusing EPR (Ethylene Propylene Rubber) based, high voltage splicing tape. It is a non-vulcanising, shelf-stable tape with excellent electrical properties. 23 Tape can be used as an insulation for low-voltage applications as well as an insulation for splices up to 69kV.
3M 23 tape has a continuous temperature limit of -10oC to +90oC. The tape can be stretched up to 100% to give void free, moisture-resistant insulation with excellent electrical properties.
Common applications for the 3M ScotchTM 23 splicing tape include:
- Primary insulation for splicing cable between 600V to 69kV on all solid dielectric cables
- Jacketing on HV splices and terminations
- Moisture sealing electrical connections
- Bus bar insulations
- End sealing un-energised MV cables
- Network Rail PADS Approval Numbers: 055/022274 and 055/022275
