3M Scotch 77 – Fire and Electric Arc Proofing Tapes

3M Scotch^TM fire and electrical arc proofing tape is designed to protect all types of electrical cables. The elastomer expands during a fire to provide a thick char build-up between the flame and cable creating an insulating firewall. This firewall acts as a flame barrier and heat shield, protecting the cable and vital accessories.

As the 3M 77 tape is unsupported, it is extremely conformable and can be wrapped around cables and irregular shapes easily. The tape also features a thin cross section, greatly reducing overall weight compared to other methods of flame and arc proofing, while providing equal or greater levels of fire and arc protection.

One-half lap wrap provides adequate protection for most installations, however additional wraps can be applied if conditions require, without requiring a reduction in conductor loads.
