3M T2220 – Scotch Stress Control Mastic Tape

3M 3M Scotch^TM stress control tape is designed to change/control the voltage distribution in electrical fields surrounding joints and terminations of MV/HV cables.

The 3M tape regulates the lines of flux to equalise the electrical stress in a controlled manner along the entire taped joint or termination area where the shielding has been removed. By altering the electrical field surrounding the termination or joint the stress concentration is reduced from several thousand volts to values found in continuous cable.

Features of the 2220 stress control tape include:

• For continuous use upto +90^oC.
• Emergency overload temperature up to +130^oC.
