BIM 253 – Bi-Metallic Tape Connector
Bimetallic tape connector, manufactured by friction-welding aluminium and copper rods together.
Used for joining aluminium and copper tapes together to provide a corrosion barrier between the two metals. May also be used for joining stranded conductors by first lugging each conductor.
