Sonel TDR-420 Time Domain Reflectometer

The Sonel TDR-420 time domain reflectometer is designed to quickly,easily and accurately locate faults and ends in power cables and telecommunication cables. With a large 3.5 inch colour TFT display, fault locations and distances are clearly displayed. Two independent cursors can be used to indicate upto two fault locations and the distances between them.

The meter features built in help screens to help the user interpret the TDR reflectogram with typical fault shapes.

Typical cable velocity factors are also built in for quick reference and setup of the device to enable the user to quickly configure the meter for different cable types.

The device is powered by either alkaline of NimH 4xAA batteries which can provide upto 8 hours of continuous scanning.
Protected by an IP67 case, the meter can be used to difficult conditions and is both waterproof and dustproof.

The case also has an elastomer coating that is designed to help prevent the meter slipping of the hands of the user and also provides extra protection if accidentally dropped.

• Fault location in coaxial cables
• Fault location in infrastructure cables
• Detect breaks, short circuits and moisture damage
• Measurement upto 6000 meters

The TDR-420 comes complete with test leads, and carry case. An optional mains blocking filter is also available on request for working on LV cables upto 600VAC.
