3M Scotch Resin Filled Straight Cable Joints – Pilot Cables

3M Scotchcast resin straight joints are designed for use with multi-pair/multi-cored and armoured Telecom and Pilot cables. Featuring a unique hinged mould body and totally enclosed resin mixing system. Reducing the chance of spillage, skin contact and vapour inhalation.

The LV1/-PT range of resin joints replaces the former 91-B range and is designed for use with both compression splices or insulation displacement connectors (IDCs), which are supplied as separate items.

  • One-piece, hinged mould body with foam sealing at cable entry points.
  • High-performance 2-part polyurethane 470W resin system.
  • Suitable for use with steel wire armour (SWA) Pilot & Telecom cables.

3M Scotch Resin Filled Straight Cable Joints – Standard

3M Scotchcast resin joints designed for use with single-core and multi-core armoured LV cables. This new product features a unique hinged mould body and totally enclosed mixing system which significantly reduces the chances of spillage, skin contact and vapour inhalation.

The 3M LVI-1 range replaces the traditional LA-range and is designed for use with both compression splices and some mechanical connectors, the two smallest joints LVI-1/2C and LVI-1/3C being supplied with mechanical connectors to suit multi-core cables.

  • One-piece, hinged mould body with foam sealing at cable entry points.
  • High-performance 2-part polyurethane 470W resin system.
  • Suitable for use with wire armour (AWA and SWA) cables.

Each 3M straight joint kit comprises: One-part transparent, hinged mould, 470W resin pack/s, armour continuity braids, constant force springs, Scotch T2319 self-amalgamating tape and full installation instructions.

TE-Connectivity 11-33kV Single-Core Straight Joints – AWA cables

TE-Connectivity SXAW series of heat shrink straight joints for single-core polymeric insulated Aluminium Wire Armour (AWA) cables up to 36kV.

Cable of different cross sections may be joined with these joint kits, if reducing compression splices are used.

The TE-Connectivity SXAW joint kits include an elastomeric insulation sleeve and black, metallic shielding to continue the cable screening, and an outer, sealant lined protective tube.

11kV and 33kV variants of the SXAW joint are available.

Tested to CENELEC HD 629.1 S1.

TE-Connectivity 11-33kV Single-Core Straight Joints – UNARMOURED Cables

11kV-33kV TE-Connectivity heat shrink straight joint kits for single-core UNARMOURED polymeric (XLPE/EPR) insulated cables up to 36kV.

Due to the range taking nature of these joints, cables of different cross sections may also be jointed with these kits.

  • SXSU Joints: Suitable for use with compression splices only (order separately).
  • MXSU Joints: Supplied with Tyco mechanical splice.
    The design features an elastomeric insulated sleeve and black semi-conductive screen which shields the conductor, metallic shielding to continue the cable screening and an outer, sealant-lined protective tube.
    Tested to CENELEC HD 629.1 S1.

MV Heat-Shrinkable Joints 36JTS3 K – 42JTS3 K

Up to Umax 24 kV 

APPLICATION 

36-42JTS3 K heat-shrinkable straight joints are designed for armoured, plastic insulated cables with Cu wire or Cu tape screen, to accommodate either crimped or mechanical connectors. 

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND DESIGN 

36-42JTS is the NEW high performance, compact and easy to install joint. 

Double bodies with all the electrical functions integrated! 

The Nexans 36-42JTS is an integrated coextruded “stress control field + insulating” nested in a coextruded “insulating + conductive” tube, which can withstand high voltage applications up to 42kV 

A double layer pad with conductive rubber inside and HK orange mastic outside ensure a Faraday cage and smooth the effect of the electrical field and of the voltage gradient in the connector area. 

Screen connection and armour continuity material whether SWA, STA, DSTA 

are included in the kit. 

The outer sheath is restored with heavy/medium wall adhesive lined tubing. 

MC types are supplied with “Nexans GPH” mechanical connectors. 

MV Heat-Shrinkable Joints 17JTS3 K – 24JTS3 K

A single body with all the electrical functions integrated! 

The Nexans “TRIPLE GT125” is an integrated stress control field, insulating and conductive tube, which can withstand high voltage applications up to 24kV. 

A double layer pad with conductive rubber inside and HK orange mastic outside ensure a Faraday cage and smooth the effect of the electrical field and of the voltage gradient in the connector area. 

Screen connection and armour continuity material whether SWA, STA, DSTA 

are included in the kit. 

The outer sheath is restored with heavy/medium wall adhesive lined tubing. 

MC types are supplied with “Nexans GPH” mechanical connectors. 

– 17JTS type tested with BIL at 95 kV, PD at 2Uo (≤ 10 pC) 

– 24JTS type tested with BIL at 150 kV, PD at 2Uo (≤ 10 pC
